A SAFE HAVEN

Haven of the Heart is an animal sanctuary located on a farm near Palgrave, Ontario, Canada.  It is a safe haven for a menagerie that includes dogs, cats, horses and a variety of domestic animals and fowl, all under the watchful eye of Ursula Hart, founder and guardian of the sanctuary.

Haven of the Heart is a registered charity and depends in the main on the generosity of adoptive families and other concerned animal lovers.  We are grateful to those who have either offered a forever home to one of our waifs or who have supported the care of our waifs via a financial contribution. Our Charitable number is 88803-1242-RR0001, our address is 1219 Concession Rd. 3, Adjala, R.R. #1 Palgrave, Ontario, Canada L0N 1P0.  We gratefully accept cheques as well as Online Donations.

Please check our Haven Blog for updates, as well as Petfinder which feature our animals available for adoption. We are also on Facebook.

Blessings and love to all from the Haven Waifs and their humble keeper,

Ursula Hart

Hiya! I’m a high school student looking to volunteer here. My family almost adopted a cat from here but we sadly learnt that my dad is allergic to cats :/
But when we were looking at the cat and around the property it seemed like such a wonderful place and I would really love to Volunteer here as it seems like an environment I would really thrive and enjoy being in.

If you would like to contact me

    Have a lovely day! :]

    Dear Ursula,
My mother is going to be 85 years old in Feb & sadly her health is declining & she will not be able to remain in her home and continue caring for her cats. She has 3 beloved beautiful female cats that she has been devoted to since they were kittens. I am trying to help her find loving foster homes for them in hopes that they will eventually have perfect permanent homes. The 9 year old named Baby was born spring 2013 & is a DSH brown tabby, the other 2 cats are her daughters both are 8 years old & were born Jan 2014. Ashley looks like Baby & Jayden is a bigger DLH tabby. Baby & Ashley like each other but Jayden is scrappy with both of them & she would prefer a home without them. They are all spayed & microchipped. These cats have lived in a loving quiet adult only home with a senior all of their lives & would very much like to continue living in a loving quiet adult only home. Please help my mother’s cats find perfect new guardians if you can or if you can direct us to who can help us that would also be very appreciated. We would be very grateful & knowing that my mother’s cats are in a TLC foster & or permanent home would be very comforting to her as well. Sincerely, Bev

Hello, I have just heard about your sanctuary thru a friend who’s husband recently passed away. I have made a memorial donation in his honour.
I would like to ask if you would be able to take 2 sweet little budgie birds — one green and one blue. They are both males and about 3 or 4 years old. We got them for my mother when they were about a year old. She is in a retirement home and can no longer take care of them. They are in good health and very chatty. They come with a nice big cage. I cannot take them because I have 2 cats.
    Thank you for your consideration.

Hello Inga, Thank you for thinking of us and your donation. Our sanctuary is not suitable for pet budgies, perhaps your local animal shelters would be able to connect you with a possible good home for them. We wish you the best – Ursula
